Rainwater filter is a very important component of any rainwater harvesting system. “Raingain” rainwater filter is uniquely designed to remove suspended leaves, dirt, debris or any suspended solid particles in the rainwater collected from the roof. A filter unit is provided with a stainless steel strainer with fine mesh for effective filtration before it is allowed to enter into the storage tank or recharge pit or well. This filter with self- cleansing ability works on the principle of gravity, cohesive and centrifugal force without any need of external power supply
Rainwater from building rooftops is collected using open gutters or closed piping systems. Before harvesting, it is essential to filter the water to remove suspended particles. A typical rainwater harvesting system includes a collection system, filters, and either storage tanks or groundwater recharge structures like pits, wells, or bore wells. Filters are usually installed on the exterior wall just above ground level, where the downpipe connects to the filter inlet. A stainless steel strainer removes debris, and the filtered water is discharged through an outlet pipe. This water can be reused via storage tanks or used to recharge groundwater sources.
